Solid State Drives Laptops

There is something about notebook computers which you might not know and that is the fact that many of them break in the first three years since being purchased. This shouldn’t come as a surprise if when you think about it, because they are constantly suffering physical shocks they get hit and so on.

Luckily you now have the option of buying solid state drive notebook computers which are slightly more durable than the regular ones. If you don’t know what a Solid State Drive is, don’t worry as I am about to provide that information in what follows. A SSD or a Solid State Drive is a more resistant replacement for the regular hard drives which can be found in a notebook computer. They can be placed inside any netbook, laptop, notebook, or desktop computer, and they can even be used as external hard drives.

A regular hard drive has many moving parts which are very fragile and which are very bound to break. These parts contain the data stored on them, so if any of them gets broken you will lose certain data. Any bump or fall might cause the parts to get broken which can be kind of worrying if you have important data stored on the hard drive.

When it comes to the Solid State Drives, the difference is that they do not contain multiple moving parts, which means that they can be subjected to far more bumps or falls. This does not mean that I am encouraging you to go ahead and drop your notebook on the floor or throw it against the wall.

The solid state drives are built from solid state memory chips. They resemble the memory which you have in your computer if you know how that looks like. Because of the way they are designed, the solid state drive notebook computers will store the data even after they have been shut down, which doesn’t happen when a regular hard drive is used. In the case of the regular hard drives, the memory located in the PC’s memory chips is lost.

Because of this, many compare the solid state drives with the USB sticks, a very large and more spacious USB stick that is. Another benefit when using a solid state drive is the fact that the data is accessed far more quickly than in the case of the regular drives and that is because the SSD doesn’t have the moving parts. The solid state drives do not suffer the same delays as the regular hard drives, and that is extremely beneficial for those that mainly use their computer for work. The solid state drives are also more quiet because they do not required to be cooled.11
