Apple has definitely done it this time and once again they were here first. The new iPad 3 has arrived and what can we say, it is simply outstanding. On the Apple website you can see the whole presentation with all the capabilities the new iPad comes with. We’ re just going to focus on the major differences between this iPad and the last. Everything is better with the new iPad, the camera, the display, the connectivity, not to mention its 4G capabilities.

Apple has reached the pinnacle of display technology. The fabled Retina Display has finally arrived in iPad format. Bringing up to four times as many pixels as the iPad 2, the display on the iPad 3 looks simply… alive. The resolution is simply mind blowing. At 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution you get nothing less than 3.1 million pixels which makes them impossible to spot with the naked eye. The highest quality HDTV has a million pixels less than the 9.7 inch display of the iPad. When you can’t even distinguish a pixel from close proximity, you can imagine the level of detail a normal picture or video would get. This is considered to be a breakthrough technology because for the first time, pixels have been separated from the signals on a different plane, making sure that the image doesn’t suffer because of the criss-crossing between signals and pixels.

The other magnificent achievement is the presentation of the new A5X processor. This is a super fly, supercharged quad core processor which makes sure that the iPad 3 is as smooth and as fluid as ever. Animations and interactions have never seemed better on the new processing power unit provided by the iPad. Whether you’re swiping between pages or you’re modifying pictures and videos in iMovie or iPhoto, the whole operation is as easy as breathing.

Then there is the instant on response. Whether you are using it a couple of minutes here or half an hour there, all you need to do is to press the home button or remove the Smart Cover and the iPad is ready to go. This is the work of the newly integrated flash storage units which provide a capacity from 16 GB to 64 and offers unparalleled speed. This way you resume al your tasks in a matter of moments.

And yet, despite the supercharged processor and the retina display, not to mention the juiced up graphics the battery has remained as resilient as ever offering nearly 10 hours of interaction with the device no matter whether you’re reading, navigating or watching videos.
