A dedicated Skype app for iPad was in order, so developers did their best and made one available. It took some time, but at least in the end those who are Skype lovers and in the same time iPad users can now enjoy using their favorite app on their favorite portable device. If you are interested, you should stick around because I am going to provide some details about the features that Skype for iPad has to offer.

The main advantage of Skype is that it offers an alternative in situations when you notice that you have no more minutes left or a certain long distance call would cost too much. In order to use this app you will need a Skype Name and a Password. The good news is that for the basic services you won’t have to pay a penny. If you decide to go for a video call, you will notice that the large touchscreen of the iPad is an asset, because the image of the one you’re calling always looks sharp and detailed. Because the iPad has two cameras, you will be able to switch between them and offer your conversation partner various viewing angles. You are also given control over the conversation’s status, meaning that you can at any time mute it or end it or switch it to full screen.

If you are not interested in audio and video calls, you can simply use Skype for iPad for the purpose of texting your friends. What I also need to mention is that the app saves the history of your conversations, so you will be able to review your latest conversations fast and easy.
