Ipad Hacking
The iPad was disregarded by many as nothing more than a glorified iPhone, in truth the tablet proved to be a lot more than that, but there is some truth in it as well. Most apps that were designed for the iPhone are compatible with the iPad as well. That is because the iPad comes with basically the same OS the iPhone uses. Now for instance the iOS has reached version 5 and comes with quite a few improvements. Unfortunately, just like the previous versions, the iOS is highly restrictive. This is why most people are looking for hacks to give them a certain level of freedom and control over the iPad.

While a few hacks for the iPad appear basically every month, there is a considerably larger number of iPhone related hacks that can be applied to the iPad as well. Some of these hacks may include several optimizations to the interface, the installation of certain apps and those involving iPad jailbreak techniques. One of the most common hacks is the installment of Flash on the iPad which will allow you to run various flash based websites and apps that wouldn’t normally work on the iPad.
We all known that the iOS is a prison when it comes to apps. This basically means that outside apps will not be allowed. All apps need to be downloaded only from the iTunes store. You will see that most iPod touch or iPhone apps will run easily on the iPad, the only impediment being the apps inability to enlarge itself in order to comprise the whole screen of the iPad.
For instance, one of the preferred methods of inflicting enough “damage” on the iOS, in order to allow you to customize it is by jailbreaking it. For instance the JailbreakMe 3.0 was released this summer. This is one of the top programs when it comes to iPad safe jailbreaking. You basically get all the 4.x firmware.

One of the top differences between the JailbreakMe program and other programs such as redsn0w or PwnageTOOl is that the JailbreakMe allows you boot through the bootrom level. For instance the A5 chip integrated in the iPad 2, does not know iBoot or bootrom-level, thus rendering other jailbreaking programs such as PwnageTool, useless. The JailbreakMe tool allows you to inject the jailbreak.
The only thing you need to be careful when jailbreaking with the JailbreakMe tool is that, the moment you restore the iPad, you will most likely lose the modifications made by the jailbreaking injection. This will require you to restart the whole process again, but the freedom earned is worth it.
