Att Ipad
If you are interested in getting an iPad with 3G or 4G capabilities and not only Wi-Fi, you will have to choose between the services of AT&T and Verizon. Because a choice needs to be made the market has tried hard to provide reasons why a carrier is more desirable than the other. Today I am going to provide a reason list of my own that will help you see why getting the new iPad from Verizon, instead of AT&T, is the better choice.

What I must say from the very start is that getting an AT&T or Verizon iPad with 4G capabilities is definitely worth the investment. Such a purchase will help you get access to an Internet connection even if you realize that no Wi-Fi network is available in your current location. However, the speeds of that data connection that makes available web browsing depend on the carrier you choose. So, even if both AT&T and Verizon deliver iPads with data connection support, the Verizon version benefits from better speeds because the LTE network of this carrier is blazing fast. You will actually be able to achieve average download speeds of around 15Mbps and average upload speeds of up to 8Mbps. However, it’s not all about speed. You should also know that by purchasing your iPad 4G from Verizon instead of AT&T you will benefit from better coverage.

Another feature that the AT&T iPad with 4G capabilities lacks is the Personal Hotspot service that is currently offered only by Verizon. The even better news is that Verizon is offering the feature for free no matter what data plan you choose. By converting your iPad in a personal hotspot you will be able to provide Internet connection for up to 5 devices in the same time. In addition, you will be able to establish the connection via USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. What I also need to mention is that used as personal hotspot the new iPad can run continuously for up to 24 hours.
When it comes to data plan prices, the AT&T iPad loses terrain once again. That’s because Verizon delivers 4GB of data per month in exchange for $30 and not only 3GB. It’s true that the offer is time limited but as long as it’s available why not take advantage of it. Not to mention that the offer can be used in 200 U.S. cities and not only in the 32 U.S. cities that AT&T manages to cover. That’s why, before making a final decision, you should also consider the coverage maps of the two carriers. The good news is that no matter the carrier the quality of the Apple tablet delivered is the same.
