The capacity of the iPad is 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. It has a high-performance and custom designed 1GHz Apple A4 processor. It provides two sensors: the accelerometer and the ambient light sensor.

The iPad has a built-in battery of 25-watt-hour which is rechargeable and made of lithium-polymer. It supports up to 10 hours of watching videos, surfing the internet on Wi-Fi, or listening to music. Also, it can last up to 9 hours if you are surfing the web using the 3G data network.

For input and output, the iPad provides a dock connector port, a stereo headphone jack of 3.5 mm, a built-in speaker, a microphone and a Micro-Sim card tray, which goes only with the Wi-Fi + 3G model.

In what concerns the audio playback, the iPad has a 20Hz to 20,000Hz frequency response. The maximum volume limit can be configured by the user. It supports the following audio formats: HE-AAC, AAC, Protected AAC, Mp3, Mp3 VBR, Audible, Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV.

The TV and video configuration supports 1024 by 768 pixels when using the Dock Connector with VGA Adapter, 576p and 480p when using the Apple Component AV Cable and 576i and 480i when using the Apple Composite AV Cable.

Regarding the wireless and cellular connection, the Wi-Fi model provides Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 and EDR technology, while the Wi-Fi + 3G model also provides these two, plus UMTS/HSDPA and GSM/EDGE.

The iPad enables viewing the following document types: images (.jpg, .tiff, .gif), Microsoft Word documents (.doc, .docx), web pages (.htm, .html), Keynote (.key), Numbers (.numbers), Pages (.pages), Preview and Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), Microsoft Power Point (.ppt and .pptx), text (.txt), rich text format (.rtf), contact information (.vcf), Microsoft Excel (.xls and .xlsx).

Also, the iPad enables the use of numerous languages, also providing keyboard and dictionary support for them.

It has the next buttons and external controls: On/off, Sleep/wake, Silent, Volume up/down and Home.11
