Apple iPad integrates the LED MultiTouch technology and comes equipped with a 9.7 inch screen. What does multi-touch mean? If on some of the smart phones we expected that when we touch the screen with one finger or with a stylus for something to happen but the multi-touch technology allow the device to recognize in the same time more fingers. The simplest application where you use this is when you want to zoom in or zoom out in a photo.

Because it is made for Internet where we assume that we must type addresses and other text,  iPad comes with a virtual keyboard pretty much the same as on the smart phones but it is way bigger and easier to use. The autonomy is incredible: 10 hours in normal conditions – WiFi and high quality movies along with the 3G Internet are consuming a lot of the battery.

You get very useful applications preinstalled like iBooks to read books, iTunes to buy applications, movies, music and other. The Safari web browser, Notes. Calendar, player for YouTube videos, Contacts, GPS.

Let’s look on the other side. It does not support any memory cards which means that in vacations you can’t see the pictures on the iPad only if you carry a PC with you on which to upload the photos to iTunes. It does not have multitasking so you will have to close an application in order to start another. But the good news is that in November 2010 an update to the iOS has been launched which partially solves this problem.

You can’t connect this device to a printer to print files. You wonder why you need that? Well I remind you that the iPad is not only an expensive gadget on which to watch movies and surf the internet. It is a very useful tool for the business men, and when you want to quickly print a graphic or a table or any other document … it becomes a necessity.

It has no photo/video camera which makes it hard when you use applications like instant messaging without the web cam function. One of the biggest problems for Internet surfers is the lack of Flash Player. You can watch YouTube videos with a special application but no other flash application works.
